Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s largest and most famous reserve, and it’s a main attraction of Tanzania safaris. Encompassing 5,700 square miles, the Serengeti is home to one of the world’s most diverse wildlife populations.
The Serengeti also is one of the top destinations for observing lion prides. Safari guests cross the Serengeti in four-wheel-drive vehicles to view cheetahs, rhinos, buffaloes, leopards and more. For terrific views of the animals at dawn, some safari operators offer the option of an early morning hot-air balloon ride over the plains.
Open Mon-Fri 7am-10pm, Sat 8am-10pm, Sun 9am-10pm, CDT
