Situated in the northern reaches of Tanzania, Lake Manyara National Park is prized for its scenic setting. The thick forests, bush plains, cliffs and hot springs sustain an abundant wildlife population. Elephants, giraffes, impalas and the world’s biggest concentration of baboons dwell in the park, which is also recognized for its tree-climbing lions. Bird-watchers can spot nearly 400 species, including thousands of pink-hued flamingos and yellow-billed storks.
Game drives, forest walks, cultural excursions and mountain bike tours are just some of the activities offered to park visitors. Canoeing is available when the water levels are sufficiently high.
